The Helen Kellogg Institute for International Studies

"The Helen Kellogg Institute for International Studies aims to advance investigation in comparative international studies. Each year, the Kellogg brings to campus about 15 residential Visiting Fellows from the United States and abroad. The Institute also comprises more than 60 Kellogg Fellows, all of whom are Notre Dame faculty members, coming from 16 departments, and it awards individual support to faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates for international research or internships. Through program activities, the Kellogg Institute fosters interdisciplinary research on contemporary political, economic, social, and religious issues."

The Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies


"The Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame conducts research, education, and outreach programs on the causes of violence and the conditions for sustainable peace. The institute's research agenda focuses on the religious and ethnic dimensions of conflict and peacebuilding; the ethics of the use of force; and the peacemaking role of international norms, policies and institutions, including a focus on economic sanctions and enforcement of human rights. In addition to individual research by faculty in a wide range of disciplines, the institute organizes collaborative research projects on these themes."

The Robert and Elizabeth Nanovic Institute for European Studies


"The Nanovic Institute is dedicated to broadening the learning experience at Notre Dame by supporting teaching and research in contemporary European affairs. Through grants and programs, symposia, and special events, the Institute provides an interdisciplinary home for undergraduate and graduate students and faculty to explore the evolving ideas, identities, institutions, and beliefs that shape Europe today."

The Program in American Democracy

"The Program in American Democracy seeks to further the understanding of democratic politics and policy making in the United States. Established in 2001 by members of the Department of Political Science, the Program in American Democracy promotes and facilitates research, teaching, and other activities which explore and assess the quality of American democracy."
