Dear Colleague:

The Department of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame is delighted to announce its current candidates for academic appointments. Most have their doctorates in hand or will have completed them by August 2008.

During the last decade, Notre Dame has honed a small, highly selective Ph.D. program. All of our candidates reflect Notre Dame's unique integration of teaching and research. Many of these candidates have taught their own classes, several as University Teaching Fellows, and most have received highly competitive external grants as well. All have presented papers to professional conferences, and some already have several publications in respected disciplinary journals. Some seek and deserve placement at top-20 departments, while others aspire to teach at excellent liberal arts colleges.

Tenure-track placements of our candidates in recent years have included universities such as Adelphi, Baylor, Catholic University, Drake, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Oxford, Pennsylvania, Pepperdine, Pittsburgh, Purdue, University of Texas-Austin, SUNY-Stony Brook, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and liberal arts colleges such as Bates, Bowdoin, and Connecticut.

To facilitate ready access to information, some candidates, at their own discretion, have placed summary biographical sketches, curriculum vitae, and email addresses on our website. If you click on these sites, you should be able to view the desired information. Some additional strong candidates have chosen not to use this medium for disseminating their information.

We urge you to give serious consideration to our candidates.

Sincerely,

Prof. Benjamin Radcliff
