Tirzah Montanye is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, with a concentration in political theory. Her research interests include religion and politics, Christian political thought, ethics, and the history of political thought and legal philosophy. More specifically, she is interested in the development of political -theological thought as it pertains to ethical questions with special import for the conduct of public life, as well as ways in which resolutions of those questions have concretely shaped categories of political thought and frameworks for legal action throughout history; and she hopes, at Notre Dame, to continue previous work exploring the theorization and embodiment of political virtue.

Before coming to Notre Dame, Tirzah spent two years at the Center for Public Justice in Washington, D.C., where she served as a research associate. She has also served as a legal assistant at various law firms. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
