Luis Schiumerini is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, board member of the Argentine Panel Election Study 2015, and a research associate of the Center for the Politics of Development at UC Berkeley. Luis' research lies at the intersection of political economy and political behavior. His work employs tools of causal inference to study the quality of democratic representation in the developing world. Luis' research has been published or is forthcoming at Perspectives on Politics, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, the British Journal of Political Science, and University of Michigan Press. Luis is currently completing a book manuscript that examines the causes and consequences of incumbency advantage and disadvantage in South America.
Previously, Luis was a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow in Politics at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, and Postdoctoral Associate and Kellogg Visiting Fellow at the University of Notre Dame.
