Samuel Piccolo is a first year Political Science PhD student at Notre Dame, specializing in Political Theory. He holds a degree in International Political Economy from Brock University (2017). At Notre Dame, he would like to engage questions of nationalism, narrative truth, and reconciliation in political communities where competing groups' narrative truths are fundamentally at odds with one another, such as disputes between European and Indigenous Canadians. His work engages with Hannah Arendt, Giambattista Vico, Greek tragedians, and literature. He is from Ridgeville, Ontario, Canada, and was formerly a journalist on staff at the Voice of Pelham, where he wrote news, features, and personal essays.
