Professor Bonnie Honig will be kicking off this year’s Political Theory Colloquium. Prof. Honig, Senior Research Fellow at the American Bar Foundation and appointed (courtesy) at Northwestern Law School, is Sarah Rebecca Roland Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University. The paper she will present is called “Ismene’s Forced Choice: Sacrifice and Sorority in Sophocles’ Antigone”. Books she has authored include Democracy and the Foreigner (Princeton, 2001) and Emergency Politics: Paradox, Law, Democracy (Princeton, 2009). She is currently writing a book called Antigone, Interrupted. Honig’s work has been translated into Japanese, Greek, German, Italian, French, and Spanish.
