The Center for Social Research<http://csr.nd.edu/> (CSR) will be offering a non-credit short course, "Introduction to R", at no cost to Notre Dame faculty, students, and staff again next week, on

Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

In the statistical computing lab located in 935 Flanner Hall.  The last offering was full, but there are still spots available for next Wednesday afternoon.  To enroll, please email michael.clark@nd.edu<mailto:michael.clark@nd.edu>.

The "Introduction to R" short course provides a tutorial about the program and what it can offer as a primary or supplemental statistical package.  This short course assumes no prior experience with R and will focus on the basics so that participants feel comfortable continuing to use R on their own.  CSR Statistical Consultant, Michael Clark, will cover installation and download of additional packages, simple scripting, analysis, graphics, and suggestions about how to proceed once armed with the basics.  For more information, including course materials, click here<http://csr.nd.edu/statistical-services/non-credit-short-courses/introduction-to-r>.
