Conversation with Diplomat: Umut Acar (Consul General of Turkey)

Location: 1050 Nanovic Hall

Umut Acar, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago, will be at the Nanovic Institute on March 7th to give a lecture (title TBD) and lead a discussion with those in attendance.  The event will take place in 1050 Nanovic Hall from 12:30-1:30 and is free and open to all.  Lunch will be provided while supplies last.

 

Umut Acar earned his undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey.  He started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998 and has served in a variety of roles in the Ministry since then.  From 2013-14 he served as the head of the Department for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and from 2014-15 he served as the Chief of Cabinet of the Minister.  In October 2015 he began working in his current position as Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago.
