Timothy Cheek has been a professor at UBC since 2002 teaching in the IAR’s Asian policy program. His research, teaching and translating focus on the recent history of China, especially the role of Chinese intellectuals in the twentieth century and the history of the Chinese Communist Party. 

This lecture is part of the Liu Institute’s 2018-19 "Legitimacy and Propaganda in Contemporary Asia" speaker series.
