About the Speaker
Andrew C. Gould is a Faculty Fellow of both the Nanovic Institute for European Studies and the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. His published works have been in the sub-fields of religion and politics, the political-economy of decision-making, and qualitative research methods. Gould wrote Origins of Liberal Dominance: State, Church, and Party in 19th Century Europe (University of Michigan Press, 1999). His articles appeared in West European Politics, Studies in Comparative International Development, and the Review of Politics; his chapters appeared in books and the Annual Review of Political Science. He and Anthony Messina are co-editing a book on European Identities? Regionalism, Nationalism, and Religion. Gould taught at the University of Washington, Seattle (Jackson School of International Studies) before coming to Notre Dame.
