Assault on the Capitol: What Just Happened?

On Wednesday, protesters breached the Capitol in an effort to halt the certification of Electoral College votes. Many of us sat glued to live-feeds from networks or scrolled through our Twitter feeds with the same looming questions: What exactly are we watching? How did we get here?
Join the Klau Center for Civil and Human Rights and the Rooney Center for American Democracy as we seek to understand Wednesday's events. We'll examine the partisan and political dynamics that led to this moment; the history of protest by Black and White Americans and the response of law enforcement; the global context of contested elections, political disruption, and challenges to democracy; and treason, sedition, and the 25th Amendment.
