Emily Anderson
Biography
Emily E. Anderson is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. Her primary field of study is American Politics, with special interest in state politics and states-as-cases designs. Emily's dissertation focuses on the institutional design and strength of state-level political party organizations and the corresponding. Additionally, her work addresses outside influences on mass political knowledge and political efficacy. As a methodologist, Emily is looking to bring ideas from her background in bioscience to political science. She also serves as the Vice President for Professional Development in the Political Science Graduate Organization (POGO).
She is published in outlets including British Journal of Political Science and Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Policy. Her work has also been presented at the Midwest Political Science Association annual conference and the Society for Political Methodology 'PolMeth' conference.
Prior to graduate studies, Emily spent three years in state government as a legislative assistant working to chauffeur legislation through the law-making process. She graduated from University of Wisconsin- La Crosse with Bachelors of Science in Political Science and Biomedical
Microbiology. While attending UW-La Crosse, Emily was a RT-PCT research tech in the Galbraith Biology Lab and a student representative for the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Foundation.
