Steven T. Landis

Biography

Steven T. Landis is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Political Science specializing in International Relations and Research Methods. His teaching and research interests sit within the intersections of environmental security, economic development, and political violence. His current research projects are focused on climate adaptation strategies, the application of tactics in civil war, and questions of measurement in both time and space. His work has appeared in several high-profile journals such as Foreign Policy Analysis, Journal of Peace Research, Political Analysis, and Political Geography.

In addition to his teaching, Landis serves as an advisor and mentor to undergraduate students, helping students with course selection and academic and professional career planning.

Before coming to Notre Dame, Landis was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, a Postdoctoral Scholar at Arizona State University School of Politics and Global Studies, a Research Fellow with Arizona State University Global Security Initiative, and a Visiting Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
