Biography

Tirzah Montanye is a J.D./ Ph.D. student in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, with concentrations in political theory and constitutional studies. Her research interests include Christian political thought, ethics, the history of political thought, American constitutionalism, and philosophy of law. More specifically, she is interested in the development of political-theological thought as it pertains to ethical questions with special import for the conduct of public life, as well as ways in which resolutions of those questions have concretely shaped categories of political thought and frameworks for legal action throughout history. She is especially interested in exploring the theorization and embodiment of political virtue.

Before coming to Notre Dame, Tirzah spent two years working in policy analysis at the Center for Public Justice in Washington, DC, with a focus on family policy. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL.
