I am a Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. My fields of study are Political Theory and Constitutional Studies. Prior to coming to Notre Dame for my PhD, I studied at Furman University, where I received a BA in Political Science and History. From 2013 to 2015, I was a Teach for America corps member in Denver, CO, where I taught high school history.

My research focuses on the foundations of Alexis de Tocqueville’s liberalism. My book project seeks to offer an entirely new interpretation of Tocqueville’s political philosophy and to engage with contemporary disputes surrounding liberalism.
