Clare is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and a Doctoral Student Affiliate at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. Clare specializes in comparative politics, comparative legal studies, and religion and politics.

Clare has a master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University and a master’s in law from the University of Cambridge. She received her LL.B. degree in Law & French from Trinity College Dublin.

Prior to joining Notre Dame in 2017 Clare worked as a corporate lawyer for ten years, primarily with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Dubai, where her main focus was on international structured finance and international financial restructurings. While working in Dubai Clare also held an adjunct position at Zayed University, teaching freshman and sophomore courses.
