Kerby Davis is a third-year graduate student in International Relations and Political Theory at the University of Notre Dame. His primary research interest is in hegemonic bids and interstate war. To approach this question, Kerby focuses on understanding underlying trends in war and conflict to explain why states choose hegemonic bids and explain their relative success or failure.

In addition to his primary research interest, Kerby investigates military innovation and technological development, military theory, as well as modeling and simulation. He also is dedicated to teaching, reflected in the Excellence in Teaching award for work as a teaching assistant for the Intro to World Politics class of Spring 2023.

Previously, he worked in the Washington DC think tank and advocacy space as a foreign policy analyst where he focused on U.S. relations with Europe and Russia. Kerby earned his Bachelor’s. at Brigham Young University in political science and a Master of International Affairs at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M.
