Requirements for Employers

We ask that you

provide challenging work that will allow the intern to link classroom learning to the work world. This can include conducting research, writing and presenting reports, attending staff/board meetings, organizing events, marketing, grant proposals and more; 

write a clear and detailed job description;

interview the potential intern as you would a potential employee;

discuss the intern's learning goals at the beginning of the internship;

give regular feedback to the intern;

be available to answer questions;

complete the Mid-semester and Final evaluations and discuss them with the intern.

Interns are required to

call you to make an appointment for an interview;

be available to work at least twice a week for a total of 6 hours per week, 8 if possible;

notify the supervisor and Internship Director of absences; 

conduct themselves professionally.
