Fields of Study: International Relations

Madeline has a BA from the University of Colorado in International Affairs and an MA from Rice University in Global Affairs. Her MA thesis examines the authorization for use of military force, the US’ drone program, and international law. She has conducted research on counterterrorism, the international legal and political consequences of the automation of war, and nuclear disarmament talks in the Korean peninsula. In graduate school, her research will focus on two major themes: the political consequences of prioritizing automation of war, and the semantic approaches used in justifying war legally on the domestic and international level.
