Lieutenant Colonel Meghan Cumpston is a first-year PhD student and a Goodpaster Scholar through the US Army's Advanced Strategic Planning and Policy Program. LTC Cumpston received her commission and bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University in 2003, and completed her Masters in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in 2013. Meghan is a Graduate Fellow in the Notre Dame International Security Center.

She most recently served as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G2, for the 1st Armored Division. Over the course of her over 20-year career, she has served in multiple Army command and staff appointments as an intelligence officer and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve. LTC Cumpston also taught in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy.

Her military education includes the Air Defense Artillery Short-Range Air Defense Basic Course, Military Intelligence Captains Career Course, Counterintelligence Special Agent Course, and the Source Operations Course. She is a 2009 recipient of the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award.
