Panel: "Predictors of Sustainable Peace"

Although violent conflict remains a persistent reality, much of the world's population resides in zones of relative peace, where societies have acquired effective structures of governance to resolve conflicts without resorting to direct violence.

In this panel, Cortright and Wallensteen will identify and analyze the key predictors of sustainable, quality peace. They will make an argument for robust governance structures prioritizing inclusivity, participation, and accountability. Following a response from Hartzell, the presentation will open up to discuss the implications of these findings for enhancing the study and practice of strategic peacebuilding.…
